• Strength – 17-4 stainless steel can be hardened to various strength levels, including an ultimate tensile strength of 1,300 MPa (190,000 psi).
• Corrosion resistance – 17-4 stainless steel has superior corrosion resistance compared to other stainless steels, especially in harsh environments. It’s resistant to atmospheric corrosion and diluted acid salts.
• Overaging improves resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
